Bjelašnica six-seater chairlift gets a new haul rope — a BAM 837,000 contract
Public company ZOI'84 has chosen the Sarajevo firm XElement to supply and replace the haul rope on the six-seater chairlift, so the lift is ready for the start of the season.
The cantonal public company ZOI'84 has signed a framework agreement with the Sarajevo firm XElement to supply and replace the haul rope on Bjelašnica's six-seater chairlift. The contract is worth BAM 837,000 excluding VAT and runs from 22 September 2026 to 22 September 2027.
XElement was the only bidder in the open procedure. Bids were assessed as the most economically advantageous tender: price 75 percent, delivery time 15 percent and warranty 10 percent.
Why the rope is being replaced
In January 2026, strong wind with gusts above 150 km/h pushed one chair outside its designed range of movement as it left the garage. The lift stopped automatically, and OC Bjelašnica kept it out of service pending further checks with the equipment manufacturers and domestic and foreign experts. The aim of the works is to have the six-seater ready for skiers at the start of the new season; an exact reopening date has not been announced.
